Inside Our Workshop: How a Companion Doll Is Made
Four steps from clay to companion
Our manufacturing base sits in Dongguan, China — the city that crafts more than 40% of the world’s companion dolls. It grew out of more than seven years of 1688-verified super-factory production for international brands. Here is what happens inside.
1. Digital sculpting
Every head and body begins as a 3D sculpture. Artists refine proportions, expressions and skin detail digitally before any material is poured — the modern equivalent of the classic clay maquette.
2. Platinum-cured casting
Platinum-cured silicone is poured into dedicated molds and cured slowly. Platinum curing produces a stable, non-porous, hypoallergenic material that holds sculptural detail for years.
3. Hand-finished makeup
Blush, veining, lip tone and skin gradients are applied by hand. No two finishes are identical — subtle variation is the signature of a hand-painted piece.
4. Multi-stage QC
Skeleton articulation, surface quality and function checks happen before the doll is wrapped in its blanket and packed into a plain, unbranded box.
